Thanksgiving Break is Important

Thanksgiving Break is Important After 12 weeks of homework, meetings, classes, and everything else that arises, Thanksgiving break awaits students. This is not just any break, its one that is essential to the arc of each semester. Its a time to focus on things that require attention that cant be given during the weeks of a semester. From the simplest aspects of things like catching up sleep to bigger tasks like applying for internships, Thanksgiving break can be crucial to accomplishing things and accelerating the rest of your semester. For myself, this years Thanksgiving break has been very relaxing. I watched old classic films, ate great food, and spent time with family, and even worked on revamping my resume. This week was not just a pit stop in the semester, it was exactly what I needed to finish off the remainder of the semester. My batteries are all charged up and I am ready for all of the intensity that comes along with the next few weeks. If you already feel relaxed and rested before Thanksgiving break begins, this week can be used to catch up on studies and homework, too. Some projects and papers will be assigned right before break to give you time at home to work on them. Other classes might even place exams right after break so that students can study for them while on break. These are some other activities to consider for your Thanksgiving breaks during college. I am very thankful for Thanksgiving break. This is a week to focus on other things and get ready for the road ahead. However you choose to do that is entirely up to you, but in the long run, it will pay off. Jacob Class of 2019 I’m an Advertising student within the College of Media. My hometown is a place called Fairmount, Illinois, which is about 30 minutes from campus. I began my Illinois journey in the Division of General Studies.
